Weisbrot, Q.C. Student Awards |
 |
Al
Weisbrot graduated from Osgoode Hall in 1959 and went
on to a distinguished career in family law. When he passed
away in August 2001, his friends and family wanted to
create a permanent memorial in his name. Their goal was
to raise $10,000 to establish a student award in family
law at Osgoode. The response surpassed everyone's expectations.
More than $20,000 was raised - enough to create a bursary
and a prize in his name.
The
generosity of these donors is a testament to the life
and character of Al Weisbrot. He was a remarkable individual
who had a significant effect on many people, and gained
their respect and love. Through his family, friends,
classmates and colleagues, he has left a permanent legacy
that will benefit countless Osgoode students.
