Osgoode
relies on the support of its alumni and friends to realize
its long-term aspirations. A capital gift can advance
a number of academic priorities at the Law School. Capital
donations are given for immediate use, such as the renovation
of space in the Law School, or endowed, where the annual
investment income supports an area of the Law School
in perpetuity.
Donors,
who make a capital gift, may direct their donation toward
a specific purpose that aligns their philanthropic interests
with the Law School's needs and priorities. They often
include a significant naming opportunity in addition
to recognition in Osgoode's donor
societies.
Capital
gifts typically support the following areas:
- Building
renovation and construction of new space
- Undergraduate
scholarships and awards
- Graduate
scholarships and fellowships
- Endowed
chairs, professorships, visiting professorships and
lectureships
- Research
centres and institutes
- Library
- New
technology
- Special
projects
Many
donors elect to make multi-year pledges. We would be
pleased to discuss with donors a pledge schedule that
is most convenient for them.
