Why
does Osgoode Need an Annual Fund?
Osgoode
receives funds from three sources: tuition, the provincial
government, and private support. As the Ontario government
provides a decreasing share of the Schools operating
revenue, it is incumbent upon the Law School to seek
other sources of funding. Gifts to the Osgoode Hall
Law School Fund meet crucial academic needs that otherwise
could not be funded through its base budget.
Why
is my Gift Important?
Some
people believe that if they cannot make a "big"
gift then it is not worth making any contribution.
Nothing could be further from the truth! Every
gift, large or small, is appreciated because every dollar
makes a difference.
How
are Gifts to the Fund used?
The
Fund will support strategic annual operating priorities.
These priorities include:
- Responding
to the Schools highest emerging priorities
- Increasing
the availability of scholarships and student financial
aid
- Attracting
and supporting outstanding faculty and their research
- Equipping
the library to meet the growing and changing needs
of todays users
- Building
our premier programs such as the clinical and intensive
programs
