Wrap-up |

On October 4th, alumni, faculty and
family came to Osgoode Hall Law School to celebrate
the annual Osgood Homecoming 2003. The weather may have
been cool and breezy outside, but the atmosphere inside
was warm and inviting.
The
day began with the Alumni Association General Meeting
which detailed the accomplishments of the Association
over the past year such as the development of an alumni
website, a Dean's Newsletter and the launch of a Breakfast
Seminar Series for young alumni, as well as the Association's
goals for the coming year.
The
AGM was followed by a enthralling talk given by David
Foot, author of the best-selling books Boom Bust &
Echo: How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Shift
and the updated paperback Boom Bust & Echo: Profiting
from the Demographic Shift in the 21st Century. Gillian
McCullough, Osgoode's Director of Alumni relations comments,
"David brought to life demographic statistics and
made the aging of the massive boomer generation and
the coming marketplace of their children, the echo generation,
relevant to the changes in the legal profession and
society in general."
The
highlight of the day was the presentation of the Alumni
Association Gold Key Awards. This year's recipients
are Thomas G. Bastedo, Robert J. S. Gray, Susan M. Hare,
Mary L. Hogan, Diane L. Martin and Hartley R. Nathan.
These awards continue to recognize the outstanding accomplishments
of our alumni in the community and the contributions
that they have made to the quality and welfare of the
Law School.
Thanks
goes out to the staff of the alumni office for making
this year's Homecoming celebration such a success –
in bringing together alumni and friends to show their
pride in Osgoode, to celebrate the accomplishments of
the Law School and its alumni, and to look back fondly
on the good times that were had at Osgoode and the long-lasting
friendships that were formed here. It is with excitement
and anticipation that we all look forward together to
what is planned for what is a promising future for Osgoode
Hall Law School.
