| Who
are the Upper-Year Advisors? |
 |
The
upper-year advisors are selected from second and third
year students who have shown a commitment to the Osgoode
community. The role of the upper-year advisor is to act
as a resource for the students within their mentor group.
This may range from simply listening to student concerns
over law school and employment, to providing any additional
information they can to address issues of interest to
the students.
As an addition to the program this year, mentors will
be asked to have their upper-year advisor job-shadow them.
Job shadowing may involve attending a client interview,
attending a courtroom session, an introduction to a typical
workday and/or any other activity the mentor determines
would be beneficial to introduce an upper-year student
to the practice of law. The job-shadowing element of the
program is arranged for the second term of the school
year and it will be up to the upper-year advisor and the
mentor to set up the details.
