I chose
Osgoode "largely based on the strength and reputation
of the legal and business programs associated with the joint
LLB/MBA program. Osgoode clearly had the reputation as being
the top law school in Canada and the business school associated
with York University was among the top five institutions in
the country. Returning to Canada in 1979 from Cornell University,
where I completed my undergraduate degree, it was a very easy
decision for me to want to be at the institution which I felt
afforded me the best opportunity in terms of my future career
prospects."
The highlight of my experience "was having the opportunity
to be taught by a faculty that was second to none in North
America and to have had the opportunity to study with an extraordinarily
impressive group of students, many of whom have gone on to
accomplish wonderful things in law or business and some of
whom I do business with today."
What I learned "The most important aspect of the
learning experience at Osgoode for me was the approach to
problem-solving. The problem-solving skills that were taught
at Osgoode transcend the law and can be applied to business
or, in fact, all facets of life. This 'way of thinking' has
been one of the most important factors in any success that
I have enjoyed in my business career."
